| Natural Resource Management To avail appropriate developmental schemes to the needy and to promote sustainable usage of natural resources, different natural resource management programmes were added such as housing, sanitation and drinking water programmes. Integrated Watershed Development To take appropriate measures to improve the availability of water in the project area, to create sustainable participatory movement through formation and strengthening of viable people structure’s and to create critical awareness among the people on conservation of natural resources, we conducted watershed management programme in Mangalagiri, Santhigiri, Teekoy , Vellikulam and Kaduthuruthi. RWH Tanks A wide range of Rain Water Harvesting Tanks are constructed in the area as part of natural resource management programme. Subsidies and interest less loans were given to the beneficiaries for constructing RWH tanks. BIO- Diversity Programme Environment awareness campaigns were conducted with the objectives of; promotion of endangered medicinal plants in the area and brings out awareness about the necessity of the preservation of environment. The different activities of the pogramme were workshops on the preservation of Medicinal Plants, Public meetings in the area as an environment sensitization programme related to the day celebrations, Audio Visual shows, competitions on herbarium, medicinal garden, kitchen garden, organic farming units, exhibitions, distribution of medicinal plants, initiated seed banks, preparation of biodiversity registers at local level.
