| Sustainable Agriculture Agriculture has got more important because most of our partners are from the agricultural sector and 80% of per capita income is channeled from agriculture. The main objective of this programme is to promote sustainable agriculture through organic farming and animal husbandry. With the support from various Government and Non Government organizations, the society is implementing various agriculture promotion programmes. Group Farming In order to improve the production of food grains and effective utilization of fertile land we introduced group farming under the operational area of the society. To motivate the farmers we arranged classes on organic faming and preparation of Bio fertilizers and pesticides. Farmers clubs With the objective of maintaining organic farming and preservation of natural resources the society formulated farmers clubs. These clubs have 50 to 60 members each consists of both male and female farmers. They are coordinating all the programmes related to the farming in their respective places. Vermin Compost Vermin Composting is a process by which organic waste is converted into bio fertilizer using earthworms. It contains major and minor nutrients and minerals which accelerates the plant growth. Hence the society is giving technical support for constructing vermin compost tanks. Training programme Different trainings are giving to the beneficiaries for their economic development. It includes organic farming, bee keeping, rabbit rearing, broiler chicken farming, vegetable gardening, and rubber cultivation. |
